Welcome.
Welcome to the home of the DC Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at The George Washington University.
A little bit about us...
The 33rd national chapter of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity was orginally at founded on October 9, 1909 at the George Washington University. For over 100 years, the brothers of DC Alpha SigEp have continued to uphold the principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love, upon which our founding fathers created this fraternity.
The DC Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon strives to help its members achieve their maximum potential, not tear them down. Essential to this idea is our Balanced Man Program, a self-paced, personal development experience that has been emulated but never equaled by many other fraternities. The premise of the Balanced Man Program is the idea of "universal respect for self and others." In accordance with our balanced man program, we seek to enhance our brothers’ capabilities as scholars, gentlemen, athletes, and leaders. Leadership is something that is heavily emphasized throughout an undergraduate’s tenure in SigEp. Whether it is within the chapter, the GW community, or the greater DC community, we encourage brothers to seek a leadership role, as it is integral part in developing critical skills for the foreseeable future.
The balanced men of SigEp may share principles, but are actually an incredibly diverse group of individuals. We believe that our diversity is an integral part of our extremely close brotherhood. The different influences and experiences that our brothers bring from all over the world improve the lives of every single member. When you join SigEp, you join a family. Our brotherhood is what distinguishes us from all other organizations and provides our members with privileges, opportunities, and experiences exclusive to being a part of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Our success we have achieved can be attributed to our strong friendship built through our rituals and unique fraternal experiences. As a brother you can expect that when you trip there will be someone there to catch you, when you fall there will be someone to pick you up, and when you achieve excellence in anything and everything you do there will be someone there to celebrate with you.
