Rush at SigEp
Sigma Phi Epsilon is a fraternity unlike any other, founded November 1, 1901 on the Cardinal Principles: Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. Today the Fraternity has grown to more than 262,000 lifetime members, and currently includes 13,500 undergraduates on 260 campuses in the United States. SigEp is the largest fraternity in terms of undergraduate enrollment, and also boasts the highest GPA.
At GWU, SigEp (the D.C. Alpha Chapter) is one of the largest fraternities on campus. We excel philanthropically, in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the fast-paced Washington business and political worlds. Our size offers tremendous strength in providing a different fraternity experience. Our difference is our Balanced Man Ideal of Sound Mind and Sound Body. Our chapter provides a four-year continuous development program focused on how you can live your best life.
Our chapter will help you set goals, provide mentorship, and offer opportunities for leadership and service. When you join SigEp, we focus on helping you acclimate to college and chapter life. Expect us to provide lessons in time management, opportunities for team‐building through knowing your brothers, and learning the history and purpose of our Fraternity.
As you progress through our experience, you may find yourself participating in etiquette training dinners with a sorority, courses and experiences in public speaking, and we’ll ask you to join another campus organization to broaden your college experience.
Our brotherhood will challenge you to get out of your comfort zone. You will simultaneously become a leader, a scholar, an athlete, and a gentleman. Through your experiences with SigEp, you’ll build professional skills
that will add to your resume, as well as build leadership experiences that will distinguish you from your peers. By the time you graduate, you will have made life‐long friends and developed life skills. You will have become a SigEp.
